I walk him to the bus and upon returning to my apartment I find my roommate watching some DVD's of a show called Supernatural. I join her. My life is changed forever.
1/16/09 - Brian Posen's Sketch Fest is in full swing, my friends and I are in attendance for The Imponderables. We see a naked Canadian. Our bucket lists are completed.
1/20/09 - Inauguration Day for President Barack Obama. History is made this day, but mostly we remember Aretha's amazing hat.
1/22/09 - I attend a networking event with some friends called "Nerds @ Heart". We are sad to discover that we are the opposite of what popular culture would call a "nerd", but we still think robots are great.
2/4/09 - I start a new temporary assignment at a law firm. I work for a hot lawyer and am asked to make coffee for him. No thanks.
I abuse the scan machine they put at my desk and spend a lot of time gchatting with Jo and writing sketches at this job.
2/20/09 - I turn 28.
3/14/09 - The Chicago River is dyed a Hi-C Ectoplasm Cooler shade of green.
3/17/09 - St. Patrick's Day. My roommate and I attend a basketball game at the United Center. Bulls v. Celtics... The Celtics lose... meh! (kicks snow)
4/18/09 - The Rock Bottom Brewery hosts a beer tasting. I attend. It is delightful.
4/25/09 - Mary Beth Cameron and Chris Dolan tie the knot. Their wedding is amazing and they make for a gorgeous couple.
4/28/09 - After class, we take in the improv set at the Main Stage and discover that some SNL castmembers are in town. We retreat to Corcoran's afterwards and are delighted to find that they have also chosen to wet their whistles there. I lightly touch Will Forte on the back as an "excuse me" gesture en route to my table. He misreads my advances and starts making out with me. Just kidding.

5/9/09 - Thirsty Humans take the kickball field for the first time...
5/27/09 - I have a job interview at a baby store... in the same day, they offer me the job. I take it. The breastfeeding toddler starts to haunt my nightmares.
6/1/09 - H1N1 hysteria begins after the World Health Organization deems it a global pandemic.
6/25/09 - Michael Jackson dies. Millions of status updates on facebook reflect mourning and loss for the King of Pop.
6/26/09 - DARCY GRACES THE WORLD WITH HER PRESENCE!!
6/27/09 - My roommate and I host a Haunted Pub Crawl.
6/29/09 - Alicia Stevenson and Isabella Stevenson-Brown come to stay with us. The visit includes a trip to the Harry Potter exhibit (which is wonderful), and Isabella being adorable as per usual.
7/15/09 - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince hits theatres. Some nerds see it at midnight.
8/4/09 - My lovely cousin Sarah, her friend Dale and his turtle Elliott make Chicago one of their stops during their cross country road trip. Their visit makes my month of August.
9/1/09 - The Ocala Kid moves in.
9/5/09 - Red Sox v. White Sox at US Cellular Field.
9/29/09 - Auditions are held for our student show. Our cast is nothing short of amazing. Is our show going to be legendary?
10/6/09 - Our first rehearsal. Yes, our show is going to be legendary.
10/17/09 - Liz and Simon get hitched!
10/30/09 - I celebrate Halloween with Rosalie Cullen at Harry Caray's. I go as a rockabilly vampire.
11/20/09 - New Moon hits theatres. Some nerds see it at midnight.
11/26/09 - Thanksgiving with Alison and John. Alison lets me in on the secret to a juicy, delicious turkey... butter. I begin to suspect that Alison is somehow related to Paula Deen.
11/28/09 - My 10 year High School reunion. I do not attend because I hear Sandy Frink won't be there.
12/25/09 - Darcy's First Christmas... I get a crock pot (thanks Jay!), she gets an audience of ten grown up adult people watching her be adorable all day long.
12/28/09 - Let's just say... I am no longer employed at the baby store. I'm not too fussed about it.
12/31/09 - Feeling nostalgic, I write a blog about my year in review and post it.
