The Netflix Swap

Extry! Extry! Read all about it!

"Millionaire Bachelor Frank Flannagan, three hours after appendix comes out, Throws Rock 'n' Roll Party at Manhattan Hospital"

The next movie that Stefania put on my queue was "Love in the Afternoon" starring Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn.

What can I say about this movie? I enjoyed it very much and sadly realized that they don't make 'em like they used to. There were plenty of clever and adorable moments and enough time for character development - which was important, since Lady Hepburn was playing someone who was playing someone else.
I liked that the ending could go either way, although I was starting to feel bad for her, running along that train desperately asserting that she was going to be "okay"... ya... you look like you're nuts though... just saying...
Stefania told me that this movie played a major part in forming her romantic interests toward more mature gentlemen and I completely understand why. Our girl Audrey oftentimes will appear opposite older men in her leading roles, but not all of them have the chemistry that she and Gary Cooper or she and Gregory Peck (swoon!) had... (looking at you "Funny Face" and "My Fair Lady"!)

ALSO, let's talk about that dress she wore to the symphony to listen to "Tristan and Isolde", okay? Uhhh... GORGEOUS. So gorgeous. Of course the only one that could actually wear it is Audrey "skeleton bones" Hepburn, but it definitely looked completely amazing and gorgeous and I want one, but it would never look as good, so nevermind... but maybe someone can tailor it to look halfway decent on me, but I could never afford it, so I'll just keep dreaming and staring at pictures of it on Google Images. Enjoy...

I give this movie a glowing review and a giant THANK YOU to Stefania for sharing it with me!

I'm surprised the name 'Gary Cooper' didn't make you shout 'SUPER DUPER' at every turn. I guess 'Puttin' On the Ritz' didn't have the same effect on you that it had on me. But I'm glad you liked this old timey movie.
