The "My Child" is a special way of embracing a loved one originally invented by my brother c. 2006. To successfully achieve the "My Child", you should be mid-hug with one arm free to stroke the hair of the person you are embracing. Start from the crown of their head and with your hand, gently swipe downwards. You are encouraged to whisper, "My... my child... my child..." as you stroke their head.
You may add a kiss on their forehead if you are so inclined.
Is this creepy? Yes.
Is it hilarious? Absolutely.
