So, I recently saw It's Complicated and had a hard time comiserating with Meryl Streep's character because... hey, guess what?? You're rich as balls and you have a water cooler in your KITCHEN! But also, I couldn't buy her kids... they looked like HER, they all had the Streep shnoz, but... they were her kids with ALEC BALDWIN who has the dominant brown hair gene... none of your kids have brown hair?? Pffft - LIKELY story!
No doubt if those two actually reproduced, their kids would be as attractive as the kids in the picture show, but they wouldn't ALL have blonde hair... c'mon casting agents!! You couldn't have dusted off some old bottles of Glints and dyed their hair brown? It comes out in 8 washes!!
On the flip side... whoever did the casting for Definitely, Maybe clearly passed their High School biology class. Before seeing the movie and figuring out who the biological mother to Abigail Breslin's character was, I made a wager with one of my friends that it would be Elizabeth Banks - due to the recessive blue eyes gene...
... and she was. It was a glorious day for nerds.
